Harriers & Eagles Photography Workshop

This truly is a workshop of two halves – we will focus on two very different subjects; half the day will be dedicated to capturing the fast military jets of the US Air Force including F15 Eagles and the brand new F35 Lightning II. The other half of the day will be spent at the near-by nature reserve which has much to offer in terms of wildlife, but has been noted as one of the best places in the UK to see Marsh Harriers.

The workshop will take place at two near by locations centred around the small village of Lakenheath. We will visit the outskirts of RAF Lakenheath, taking in a few ideal locations to capture the fast jets as they depart & return from training missions. Nearby, we will also visit the nature reserve which has a wide range of diverse wildlife and has been called a ‘Marsh Harrier factory’ due to its success in breeding Marsh Harriers over the years.

This is a self-drive workshop where we will meet up in Lakenheath at one of our venues (dependent on the air base opening times) – after a morning at one venue, we will move on to the next. Although this is a self-drive event, I am happy to help arrange car sharing from the Rugeley area – get in touch to discuss this please.

***please note we will be photographing the airfield action from outside of the base, using the designated viewing area and a few other good public spots – we will not be inside the base. Also, the event is very much subject to good weather, so in the case of extreme/poor weather the workshop date will be rearranged.
